My Approach

We can change our brains by restoring the presence of accurate information regarding the environment and the internal world.
— Sharon Stanley

I am a therapist trained in working with body and mind to help you experience more vitality, choice, and empowerment. I am primarily an experiential and process-oriented therapist, although I draw on many modalities and techniques based on your needs, including evidence based practices (DBT, CBT, ACT, and EFT) and mindfulness. As an experiential therapist, I am most interested in what is happening here-and-now to enable deeper understanding of behavior, patterns, and difficult to examine responses to enable more choice and contentment in your life.

I do not believe there is a one-size-fits-all type of therapy; Instead, I believe it is most effective when client and therapist can be their authentic selves and share both common and different understandings of their experience. My goal is to understand you and your world so that I may support you in uncovering more choice and movement in your life. Therapy is a creative and collaborative endeavor and I strive to bring presence, authenticity, and awareness to every session.

I have competency and experience working with:

-Depression

-Anxiety

-Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)

-Body Image (from fat liberation and Health at Every Size perspectives)

-Relationship issues

-Trauma

-Grief and loss

-Kink, sexuality, and gender exploration

-LGBTQI+
